Danielle Honigstein, MSW, is a respected figure in social work and community engagement. With a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a strong academic background, Danielle blends scholarly knowledge with a genuine commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.

Her passion for mental health and trauma-informed care is evident in her varied clinical experience. As a Behavioural Health Clinical Intern at Ascension St. Mary and Elizabeth Outpatient Behavioural Health, she skilfully managed a diverse caseload, offering individual, couples, and group therapy to clients from all walks of life. Her compassionate approach, using techniques like CBT and mindfulness, has left a lasting impact on many.

During her time at Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC), Danielle supported domestic violence survivors with both counseling and crucial crisis intervention, helping them find strength and rebuild their lives.

In professional settings, Danielle has made significant contributions. As a Corporate Engagement Consultant at Erie Family Health Center, she brought creativity and strategic thinking to fundraising and community engagement initiatives, significantly expanding the organization’s reach. Her leadership at Cigna, where she directed community strategy across multiple states and launched the innovative Virtual Week of Service, showcased her ability to build meaningful partnerships and drive positive change.

Danielle’s dedication doesn’t end at work. She founded and co-chaired Cigna’s Midwest Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, promoting a culture of inclusion and respect. Her volunteer efforts with iMentor, supporting a first-generation Latinx student, highlight her persistent commitment to mentorship and empowerment.
